Mastery Mood and Mindset Re-Calibration Day

This a day to invest in yourself and reflect on your resilience. I will introduce you to the Resilience Dashboard and take you through the 10 Resilience and Re-calibration Keys. By calibrating the settings of this Dashboard you will start to experience new ways of knowing, seeing and being in the world. You will establish your strengths and I will teach you an intuitive process in which, working with one particular Key, you establish your Desired Reality, Current Reality and Bridge. Using creative, discursive, interactive and intuitive exercises, I will walk you through you the 5 Levels of Listening. Together we will slow down to speed up. I will guide you in taking your blinkers off to see what is really cooking. Open up your metaphorical bonnet and see what needs fine-tuning. By making small calibrated changes in strategic areas of our life, we work towards mastery and to becoming the leaders we need to be to do what we are here to do.

Meaning of Word: Re-calibrate

cal·i·brate (verb)

  • to determine or check the range and accuracy of (a piece of equipment)
  • to make corrections in or adjust a procedure or process in comparison with a set standard
  • to mark (the scale of a measuring instrument) so that readings can be made in appropriate units

Similar words: re-align, re-adjust, restore, renew, revise, remedy, and my personal favourite – to fine tune
Opposite words: leave alone, remain, stagnate, stay, continue, keep, let stand

Human Instruments

If you think about it, we are like incredibly finely tuned instruments, sophisticated and capable of high level functioning. I recently downloaded Advanced System Care onto my laptop – each time I run the scan my laptop gets an internal boost, a vulnerability fix and registry defrag, a junk file clean, spyware removal and disc optimisation. Performance is boosted. If I have not operated the scan for a while a sad face pops up  and, once I have run the scan, the face appears with a smile again.

If you had asked me 5 – 10 years ago if I thought I was resilient I would have said hell yes! I was super energetic, super independent, super strong, super adventurous and a super mom. If I was sick, I still went to work. And if I was sad, I had a collection of sophisticated masks to put on! This is not resilience. This is surviving NOT thriving!

We get up, shake up, make up, move on and push on. And we keep our blinkers on.

We take on more responsibility without taking responsibility for ourselves.

This is not sensible nor intelligent.

I have clients who have done this very successfully. And the difference between them and the laptop is they are able to “cheat” the sad face and set it to smiley.

I mastered this trick for years!

How many times in a week are you asked “How are you?” And how many times do you answer “Fine,” with a smile on your face. But actually, truthfully, you are not fine.

In some of my darkest moments, you would see me smiling, successful in my career, out socialising and doing stuff, but inside all I wanted to do was STOP and get off the moving train. All I wanted to do was BREATHE. Instead I self-medicated. I felt like I was dying. All I wanted was the time and space for ONE yoga class a week – this was my prayer. Was this too much to ask? But the demands on my life were such that even this one yoga class eluded me.

However, my prayers were heard and an incredible journey of growing up and waking up began.

A number of years later, I look back and do not recognise that Wendy.

Recalibration is essential. Essential to your health, your happiness, your sanity and ultimately to your success.
